About Heather Feather

Flowers have always captivated me. Growing up in San Diego, California and having that beautiful exotic landscape to explore and play in is where my interest in flowers and nature first began. At the same time I also began to draw and paint and was told I was pretty good at it from a very early age. Because of that I was selected to attend F.A.M.E. (Fine Arts Magnet Education). Where I learned to perfect my art and was also formally trained in many other art forms. During this time I was also certified by the State of California as being gifted in art. When I finally decided to go back to school after dabbling in Interior Design, I chose to follow my passion, Floral Design, something I knew I always wanted to do. For me floral design is just another art form for me to master. I strive to make every event like a priceless piece of art. Beautiful, timeless, and flawless.

In my over 12 years of experience as a Floral Designer I have worked in many aspects of the business including, wholesale floral supply buyer, fresh flower sales, floral designer, floral design instructor, custom planting, etc. Which has given me an extraordinary amount of floral knowledge and experience.

I have a degree in Floral Design from Hennepin Technical College, where I graduated with honors.

When I'm not working on weddings and events, I spend time in my garden where I grow everything from vegetables, to perennials, to annuals that I use for weddings I'm working on. I enjoy spending time with my 3 beautiful daughters camping, fishing, hiking, reading a good book, or painting and sketching.  I also have a passion for ancient history.

I can't tell you how often people tell me that I have the "best job in the world".YES, I really do have the best job in the world, I feel blessed every day to be able to do what I love.

I am currently the in house Floral Designer/ Floral Coordinator for Profile Event Center in Minneapolis

My Floral Interpretation for Art in Bloom 2014 at Minneapolis Institute of Arts was reviewed by Life Inspire Design:

"The interpretation of this enshrined Buddha from the 18th - 19th century was amazing – I came back to it a few times."

My Floral Interpretation For Art In Bloom 2013 At Minneapolis Institute of Arts was Reviewed By Artlife :

"In the galleries featuring Art from the Americas two other strong pieces stood out; a flower arrangement by Phyllis Andrews and Erin Malody based on the painting Mythic Hawk by Rick Bartow, and a bold yet delicate composition of willow, sage, cat tails and other native plants that captured the beauty of a handmade shirt by an unknown Native American."
